Scientist, „L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science“ award winner
Associate professor PhD Ieva Plikusiene holds a Master degree in Physics (Cum Laude) and PhD in Chemistry. As a scientist she works in the interdisciplinary field of optical biosensors development and application for investigation of different biomarkers, including but not limited to SARS-CoV-2 antigens and antibodies or cancer biomarkers. Ieva communicates about her research and scientific work to a wide audience. In 2022 Ieva was recognized among 15 most promising young scientists in the world for her contribution in the field of biosensors and received the prestigious International Rising Talent award. Moreover, among many other awards and honors in 2022 she was the first scientist announced as a Lithuanian Women of the year.
